Being A Teenager

Being a teen is definitely not easy; there are many struggles and obstacles in being a teen. Your teen years are the years where a lot of the drama happens, and probably the years where you learn a lot. For me being a teenager isn’t very easy, but it’s definitely not that hard either.

My parents are the kind of parents that always want good for me, they don’t want me getting hurt. I usually understand why my parents make the decision they do when I ask them something, but they usually are pretty fair with their decisions. My parents do understand me in most situations, but at times there is some misunderstandings; everyone isn’t perfect right?

School can be a fun place for you; it just depends on the way you look at it. My classes are not that easy, I mean this semester is fairly easy, but next semester is super hard. I’m the kind of person who tries to find positivity in everything, but there are definitely some rocky times. School is usually a fun place for me because I get to meet my friends and enjoy myself; I get to interact with many people and learn new things.  Now that does not mean that school is perfect, school can be stressful and frustrating but you just have to learn to keep going and move on. The best parts about school is probably talking to your friends and interacting with other people, getting to know others and just overall enjoying yourself in everyday activities. The worst part is probably going through the busy hallways and sometimes going to a class where you don’t like the teacher, occasionally it can be going to your locker because sometimes the people around aren’t very friendly.

I think the main pressure I feel in school is to just be you. In high school it is very common to get judged and that definitely isn’t easy to deal with. Either way I like the way I am and accept myself regardless of what people say about me. Definitely sometimes it does bother you, but I’ve learned to let it go and just not worry, because if you like the way you are you should stay that way.

I think I do get enough sleep. I usually have enough energy to get through the day. I try to sleep as early as I can because I don’t want to wake up tired with zero energy for the day. Sometimes I don’t have as much energy, but most days I do!

I think I have a fair amount of friends, I don’t have too many. Its really hard to find someone who’s true to your friendship now days, a lot of times people become friends with you and then throw you away. I think I’m happy with my friends, there will be some rocky roads but in the end it all ends well. My friends and I are happy together and we try to stay together as much as we can. There is always someone that you are closer with and I have that person too. I’m lucky to have her in my life because she’s been there for me when I needed her most, and I’ve been there for her when she needed me most. I’m so glad I have someone like her in my life because without her my life would be so much more different. Friendship definitely is a hard thing in high school and many people do struggle with it; my friends have changed over the years but I’m happy with the decisions I have made in my chapter of friendships.

Being a teen is one of those things that cannot be given the name of one thing. Being a teen is scary, sad, happy, frustrating; it is everything you can name. It really just depends on the day and time. There will be times where you will be happy; there will be times where you’re sad. Sometimes you will feel empty and sometimes you will feel overwhelmed. Sometimes you’ll feel scared and sometimes you’ll be excited. Being a teen has unexpected roads, you have to find the right one for you. That road won’t always be smooth, it will get rocky and bumpy in between, but it will go back to being smooth. You can’t always go on a straight path sometimes you have to take turns to a new path, go where it takes you. Being a teen and while growing up I’ve learned to be myself and keep going on my path. You will meet all kinds of people on your path; they are all there for a reason. Some will stay and some won’t. Regardless of what happens, keep going on that path. That path won’t be perfect, but it’s your path and if you think your going the wrong way, choose a new path. Life doesn’t wait for you; it keeps going. Keep moving with it, and remember your path is there to guide you and to teach you, not to control you. You control yourself not the path, and if you keep going the path will move with you. Overall being a teen is a priceless experience, and you are learning something from every single part of it.

You and English History.

Welcome to my blog!

I've always enjoyed English as a subject; I love to read and write. Though in elementary school it was one of my weak subjects. Thankfully when I came in highschool it became one of my strong subjects. I've definitely enjoyed English as a whole rather it be reading or writing. I've always liked reading books, or even writing. Poetry has also been one of my favourites. I remember in grade 5 I read a book called Out On A Limb which became my favourite book. I still really love that book; I have no idea why I liked this book, it was just different. I also really liked reading a book, and then writing about your thoughts on it. Elementary school English is much more different then highschool though, but it wasn't a very hard transition. There was some differences like learning about poetry terms and stories. Elementary school English was also more over projects than actual writing. I liked writing short stories in elementary school, in fact in grade  7 my teacher made the entire class write a novel; believe it or not mine had 17 chapters! English as an experience has been great for me. I think I learn something new from English each day. I've really been able to progress in English and I look forward to grade 10 English!
